A dental bridge is a series of prosthetic teeth that are cemented into place over a gap in your arch. They anchor in place on two healthy teeth on either side of the space in your arch. The crowns of your bridge look and feel like natural teeth, so nobody will know that they\u2019re prosthetic. In fact, they even function like real ones, too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are Dental Bridges Made of?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dental bridges are typically made of the same durable porcelain used in many types of dental restorations such as crowns. This gives them both the look and feel of your real teeth, so they don\u2019t appear \u201cfake\u201d or obvious when you smile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are two types of dental bridges. Regular dental bridges, and dental implant bridges. Both types cannot be removed by the patient, but with an implant bridge you can expect an even longer life expectancy for your prosthetic. Many last for 20 years and beyond!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead of relying on healthy anchor teeth, implant bridges are attached to your jaw with two titanium dental implants that stay permanently in place. While you likely won\u2019t need to replace the implants themselves (they have a 95 percent success rate) you may eventually need to replace the crowns (teeth).
